Our pigs are raised on a non-GMO, no-soy, low corn diet which contains a large amount of barley (a favorite among butchers because it improves the flavor compared to exclusively corn diets), and are moved through our pasture and woods weekly. The pigs spend most of their time finding grubs and eating acorns from our oak trees. They are a cross of several heritage breeds, Berkshire, Meishan, Duroc and Hampshire. All of these breeds are known for superior flavor and tender meat, with Duroc being known for it's excellent marbling and the Hampshire known for a large loin (pork chops!!), and Meishan known for having an extensive belly (more bacon!). Heritage crosses inherit the best qualities of their lineages, and our breeder has spent the last 10 years specifically breeding for animals that take advantage of rotational pasture grazing.

Pricing is as follows ($300 down payment for half share, $500 for a whole pig)

Half share (~65lbs cuts)
 - 5 monthly deliveries to Park Slope CSA, total price: $775
 - 1 time delivery (within 110 miles of Woodstock NY, including NYC), total cost: $675
 - 1 time pick up on farm, plus free farm tour, total cost: $625

Full share (~140lbs cuts)
 - 1 time delivery, total cost: $1,250
 - 1 time pickup on farm, plus free farm tour, total cost: $1,200
 - slaughter only (halves and head, picked up on farm or delivered), total cost: $900
